The fall tackle program is for 2nd through 8th graders. Participants in the tackle program must register during one of the designated registration days each summer. There are generally 5 registration days scheduled on Saturdays throughout the summer.
FCCJC provides raffle tickets to each participant equal to the registration fee (100 for 2nd grade and 165 for 3rd-8th grade). These raffle tickets can be sold ($1 each) to help parents offset the registration fee. Sell all of the tickets and parents have no out-of-pocket expense on the registration fee. FCCJC secures more than 40 prizes to give away at the raffle. Winners are contacted to pick up prizes -- the prize list is also posted on the website and at the complex. The raffle stubs should be turned in at Heritage at the complex manager's office on game days prior to the drawing -- make sure staples are removed from each booklet.
Players must be present at registration. Proof of grade (report card, yearbook picture, etc.) and age (birth certificate, hospital record, passport, etc.) OR an FCCJC-issued player card must be presented at weigh-in. Players are weighed and fitted for shoulder pads and helmet if renting the equipment (equipment rental fee is $60 -- nonrefundable $25 late fee applies if renting after July 31). Individuals who own their own equipment should bring it to registration to have the equipment checked and approved for wearing during the season.
Families in need of financial assistance for the $60 equipment rental fee may complete a reimbursement request form. Payment must be attached to the completed form if applying at registration. If the form is completed and submitted two weeks in advance of a registration, determination on the request and notification will be made so that the payment is not processed if approved. Otherwise, if approved, payment will be reimbursed.
A doctor is available at scheduled registrations to perform a sport physical for $20. Tackle players MUST have a physical prior to starting practices. If players are taken to their personal physican, you may use this form.
Noncontact practices begin the last Monday of July. A minimum number of hours of conditioning must be completed by all tackle players prior to starting contact practices, which start the first Monday of August.
Players choosing to quit should return their equipment to the FCCJC office at 6740 Antioch, Suite 250, during regular business hours (Mon-Fri, 9 am to 5 pm). If quitting before games begin, the equipment rental fee, less a $5 administrative fee, will be refunded by check. Unsold raffle tickets should also be returned at the same time.
